There are times when, whether through our prior decisions or by random circumstance, we land in situations that we cannot control. Those are the hardest times, as they may require us to sit quietly, behave in ways that feel unnatural, or make other decisions we later regret. We may appear callous, weak, or selfish to onlookers who, after the fact, pass judgment on us. Yet, because we were the only ones in that circumstance with our own values, experiences, and priorities, only we can determine if our actions were the best we could do. Let not the opinions of others frame your legacy.
