The essence of divinity pulses through us, making us sacred, and radiates into the world. Awareness of our sacredness has been described as a feeling of connectedness, completion, or fullness. Forgetting our sacredness can create a feeling of loss. We may think we need “just one more thing” to make our life perfect. We may try to distract ourselves with fads and addictions.

During those times of forgetting, we may catch a glimpse of divinity radiating in someone else. We recognize that glimpse as something we're meant to have. Yet, in our condition of unawareness, we mistake it for something outside of self, that we must possess.
