Along our journey we meet others who, bearing credentials of expertise, believe it's their duty to guide us on our quest. They claim knowledge of the unknowable and offer a straight and narrow path to our goal. The traveler here, in an objective state and cloaked in the desire to seek the truth, encounters such an expert. This expert has contacts who are calling out advice from beyond The Veil. He believes his contacts know all and, engaging the traveler, attempts to guide him. The expert claims his contacts know The Clear True Way to Enlightenment and can protect the traveler from the Evils That Lie in Wait. The traveler is graced with the wisdom that the dead, just as the living, have opinions of their own. He remembers Buddha's words, “No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”
